Agricultural Learning Center

Urban Farm Facility
Purchase New York USA

The Agriculture Learning Center was a proposal to develop a facility to introduce visitors to the innovative ingredients and socially responsible harvesting processes.

The facility is comprised of a series of 25-foot-tall cubic gallery spaces. Each gallery is a flexible growing and exhibition space with individual control and support systems. The walls are clad with mirrored surfaces that reflect light and maximize solar gain –extending the growing season deep into the winter months.

Both passive and interactive exhibits, located within the greenhouse spaces, communicate various aspects of food culture. Visitors can experience the planting, growing, and harvesting of the plants and see first-hand how they are used in many everyday food products. Through these activities, visitors will be given the opportunity to learn about health, the environment, and sustainability.
